Another great way to remember your sobriety is by taking time to spend alone. Rarely do we get moments during our busy work week or weekends to sit and reflect. Doing this will help you memorialize your recovery. You’ll remember how far you’ve come and where you still need to go on this lifelong path.
You can also spend a quiet night with loved ones that support your recovery. Grill out and spend time outdoors having fun with family and friends. If going out sounds fun, go bowling, play miniature golf or dine out at a favorite restaurant.
Rewarding yourself during this time is key. Even if you entered recovery eight or more years ago, it’s time to celebrate! Take a vacation, have dinner at a fancy restaurant or take another special outing that means something to you. You deserve to reward yourself for your accomplishment!
